Chilliwack, B.C. –The Chilliwack Chiefs are proud to announce that defenceman Hunter McInnes has committed to the University of Nebraska Omaha.

McInnes will join the Omaha Mavericks for the 2025/26 season. Despite missing significant time during the 2024/25 season due to injury, he demonstrated remarkable resilience, working tirelessly toward his return and overall development.

“This is a bittersweet moment for our organization. We are extremely proud of Hunter’s commitment and the opportunity he has earned,” said Chiefs Head Coach and GM Brian Maloney. “We will greatly miss his presence both on the ice and in the community. His character and determination have left a lasting impact in Chilliwack.”

The Chiefs congratulate Hunter on this outstanding achievement and wish him continued success as he takes the next step in his hockey career with the University of Nebraska Omaha.
