Fall service changes coming for Abbotsford transit

ABBOTSFORD — BC Transit and the City of Abbotsford are swapping in some bus routes as the school year rolls in.

Starting September 2, Routes 22 (East Townline), 24 (Centre Loop), and 26 (Sandy Hill/Bourquin) will be reintroduced, with trip times adjusted to accommodate the changing school bell times.

School trips on Routes 2 (Highstreet/McMillan), 4 (Saddle/Montrose) and 7 (Sumas Mountain) are also set to resume.

Kids heading back to school are advised to stay prepared by planning their route and keeping their belongings safe. Anyone aged 12 and under is not required to pay fare or show a valid ID.

Customers are also encouraged to use the Umo app, Google Transit or other real-time trip apps to map out their journey.

BC Transit has been gearing up for the upcoming seasonal service changes across the Fraser Valley. On Tuesday (Aug. 19), school bus trips were announced on Route 51 in Chilliwack just after Labour Day.
