UPDATE: 3:10 P.M. MONDAY: DriveBC reported at 2:57 p.m. that the vehicle incident on eastbound Highway 1 before Prest Road has been cleared.

The vehicle incident just before Prest Road had blocked the left lane, causing delays for motorists.

Original story:

CHILLIWACK — A vehicle incident is reportedly impacting eastbound Highway 1 traffic through Chilliwack Monday afternoon close to where Sunday’s two rollovers occurred.

According to two social media posts on Facebook, a crash has occurred on eastbound Highway 1 eastbound just before Prest Road (exit 123).

Witnesses like Juan Silva say traffic is almost at a standstill on eastbound Highway 1. He reported at 1:56 p.m. in the Fraser Valley Road Report Facebook group that he drove over the Vedder overpass and saw traffic backed up.

1130 News Radio Vancouver reported at 2:10 p.m. on its X/Twitter account that a caller to their radio station reported an eastbound crash at Prest Road.

Chilliwack RCMP are on scene, but delays are developing.

Google Maps traffic shows dark red (heavy) traffic backed up eastbound past Vedder Road (exit 119).

There were two rollovers on Highway 1 in Chilliwack Sunday, including one that claimed the life of a 74-year-old woman from Agassiz.
