Chilliwack first responders assist young child stuck in a crib Monday afternoon

CHILLIWACK — Chilliwack firefighters see it all in their line of work.

Fire crews were paged at approximately 2:30 p.m. Monday afternoon for the report of a young child stuck in a crib at a Promontory home.

Shortly after the page, firefighters learned there was an unfriendly dog at the home.

Firefighters radioed emergency dispatch at approximately 2:43 p.m. to say the child was “extricated” from the crib.

The child’s mom asked that B.C. EHS paramedics have a look at the child, at which point fire crews asked for an ETA (expected of time of arrival) for when paramedics would arrive. An ambulance arrived on scene about a minute or two later.
