ABBOTSFORD — Police in Abbotsford are investigating a disturbing incident in which a woman was heard screaming in the parking lot of an Abbotsford business on Sunday night, August 3.

According to a statement from AbbyPD spokesperson Sgt. Paul Walker, police responded to a report of a female screaming in the Cabela’s parking lot at 1818 McCallum Road on Sunday night at approximately 9:13 p.m. Police were advised that the female was described as being South Asian in her early 20s, with a slim build, black hair, and wearing a light-coloured hoody and pants.

Police say the woman was observed attempting to distance herself from a male operating a green Ford truck, possibly a Ford Lightning. The male is described as South Asian, in his early 20s, with a slim build and dark hair. At the time of the incident, he was wearing light-colored shorts and shirt.

On arrival, officers conducted extensive patrols of the surrounding area; however, the vehicle had already left prior to police attendance. No additional information was available at the time to assist in identifying either individual involved.

Earlier today, Monday, Aug. 4, investigators obtained CCTV footage from the area that corroborated the incident. Despite exhaustive efforts to identify the individuals involved, police have not yet been successful.

Out of concern for the wellbeing of the female, investigators are now releasing the CCTV footage to the public and appealing for assistance in identifying the vehicle and the individuals involved.
