Police remove 11 drivers from Abbotsford roads for speeding, impairment

ABBOTSFORD — Abbotsford police are committed to traffic safety first as residents enjoy the long weekend.

Throughout Saturday (Aug. 2), AbbyPD removed seven impaired drivers, arrested one prohibited driver, and impounded four speeding vehicles– including one fully loaded truck clocked at 103 km/h in a 50 km/h zone.

“We can’t emphasize enough the importance of making sure everyone reaches their destination safely,” said the Abbotsford Police Department. “Our officers will continue to be out in full force all weekend to help keep our roads safe.”

Police also issued 35 violation tickets.

Nearly 290 speeding drivers have been removed from Abbotsford roads so far this year.
