Lightning ignites small wildfire on Mt. Crickmer in Mission

MISSION — The City of Mission has been supporting firefighting efforts after lightning struck a mountaintop within the Mission Municipal Forest area on Wednesday (July 23).
The BC Wildfire Service conducted aerial water drops on the Mount Crickmer fire and sent a four-person crew to combat the blaze on the mountain top.
“The City is currently providing logistical support to BC Wildfire and is ready to provide additional resources if required,” wrote the City in a social media post.
There are currently no area restrictions, and the fire is estimated to be 0.009 hectares in size.
