Abbotsford rolls out new master plan for city centre park
ABBOTSFORD — Abbotsford city council is moving forward with a 20-year guide for one of the city’s biggest parks.
Mill Lake Park, situated near the heart of the city at 2310 Emerson Street, has been offering residents sports and recreation amenities for nearly seven decades. Now, decision-makers hope to ensure the park can continue to sustain new visitors in the coming years.
“Population growth, along with population density envisioned in the Official Community Plan (OCP) is expected to substantially increase the number of visitors and users of the facilities and amenities within the Park,” wrote the City in the report.
“This Master Plan provides a framework for the Park’s ongoing development, management and use within the context of its location, natural assets, and the community’s vision.”
