Out-of-control wildfire breaks out in Alexandra Bridge Park north of Hope

SPUZZUM — Fire crews continue to battle a growing blaze at a provincial park on Saturday (July 19) near Spuzzum, roughly 30 minutes north of Hope.

BC Wildfire Service says the wildfire at Alexandra Bridge Park is currently estimated to be 2.5 hectares in size and is classified as out of control. Three crews and one officer worked on the fire overnight, after it was detected on Friday evening (July 18).

At the time of writing, BC Wildfire has sent 22 firefighters supported by a helicopter and water tender.

There are currently no threats to structures.
