CHILLIWACK — Promoting literacy with the help of creative students from a Chilliwack elementary school and the support of local Rotarians never gets old for longtime Chilliwack resident and local home builder, Tony Gore.

Gore tells Fraser Valley Today that 40 students in grade 2 from Stitó:s Lá:lém Totí:lt Elementary Middle School created artwork for a new little library/book house that was recently installed in Peach Park. The students hail from the classes of teachers Rebecca Herrin and Shannon McCann.

“This is an awesome community project,” said Gore, who lives in the neighbourhood and enjoys giving back to the community through initiatives like this. “The City of Chilliwack approved the book house going into the park and gave the location.”

The Gore Brothers company, which includes brothers Lee Gore, Mark Gore and Tony Gore and many other local employees, built and installed the book library. The Rotary Club of Chilliwack, famous for their annual book sale and for supporting all kinds of community projects, will keep it stocked with books.
