Police in Abbotsford close road Saturday morning due to mental health call

ABBOTSFORD — Police in Abbotsford say they have closed a portion of Clearbrook Road due to an unfolding mental health call.

According to a social media post at 6:02 a.m. Saturday morning, AbbyPD officers are attending a mental health-related incident in the 1400 block of Clearbrook Road. Police have closed the road between King Road and Walmsley Avenue.

Police say loud distraction devices are being utilized in conjunction with the police operation.

AbbyPD says the situation is contained to a single residence, and there is no ongoing risk to the public in the area.

Police released a picture of an AbbyPD cruiser obstructing an Abbotsford road early Saturday morning.
