Truck catches fire, impacts Eagle Landing traffic Monday night

CHILLIWACK — Chilliwack Fire Department and Chilliwack RCMP personnel were dispatched Monday evening after a Ford pickup truck caught fire Monday night on Eagle Landing Parkway.

Scanner traffic indicates the call first came in at about 8:25 p.m. Monday evening. First responders were notified about a vehicle fire on Eagle Landing Parkway.

A picture captured by Jo Austin-Jimmie and Silas Austin-Jimmie shows a Ford pickup truck completely engulfed in flames.

Traffic was impacted through the area as firefighters and RCMP attended the scene.

There were no exposures and no extensions, meaning the fire did not spread, but traffic was briefly blocked.

A witness who drove through the area told Fraser Valley Today the truck’s front end was burned and largely charred.

The vehicle was loaded onto a tow truck flat bed and towed. The scene was left in care of RCMP at approximately 8:53 p.m.
