Road blocked after motor vehicle incident in Chilliwack Sunday night

CHILLIWACK — Chilliwack first responders were paged shortly after 6 p.m. Sunday evening for a reported motor vehicle incident involving two vehicles.

According to witness descriptions, the accident happened at about 6:14 p.m. near First Avenue and Woodbine Street.

Pictures sent to Fraser Valley Today by Chilliwack resident Brooke Coombs show two heavily damaged vehicles, including a passenger vehicle and a two-door hatchback.

“[It] seems like all occupants are okay, they were out of the vehicles getting attended to by firefighters,” Coombs said. “Both vehicles had air bags deployed and the road was blocked off on First both ways for the accident.”

According to the Pulse Point app, BC EHS paramedics received a report of a traffic collision at 6:09 p.m. at First Ave. and Woodbine St. Three units were assigned at 6:09 p.m., and later cleared at 7:48 p.m., meaning the call took approximately one hour, 39 minutes.
