CHILLIWACK — A retail storefront on prime real estate in Chilliwack that once operated as a BC Liquor store has been repurposed into a completely different type of business.

CEFA Early Learning has posted signs outside 7544B Vedder Road stating it will be opening soon and is now accepting new applicants. A fenced enclosure along Vedder Road has been built in recent weeks as tradesmen and other contractors prepare the building for an early learning facility.

The company that used to operate there, BC Liquor, opened a retail site inside Cottonwood Centre mall in the area where the food court was once located.

Established in 1998 in Canada, CEFA Early Learning bills itself as having Canada’s most “sophisticated” early learning curriculum.

“The first five years of a child’s life are the most critical in brain development and can have a dramatic positive impact on the rest of their lives,” the company said. “Having your child attend CEFA during these formative years will change your child’s ability, capacity, and propensity to learn, for life. Our schools are designed to provide your child with the right education (physical, social, intellectual, and emotional) at the right time.”

The company says all CEFA teachers are licensed early childhood educators trained in the highest standards of child development and child safety.

A posting appeared on Indeed.ca for a principal/manager at CEFA Cottonwood (on Vedder Road) with a salary range of $75,000 to $85,000.
