First responders attend to crash on Lougheed Highway Saturday morning

MAPLE RIDGE — Emergency crews were busy dealing with possibly dual crashes on Highway 7, near Maple Ridge, this morning (Jun. 7).

At roughly 10:25 a.m., BC Emergency Health Services were called out to the Lougheed Highway eastbound and Owen Street for a motor vehicle incident. Two units responded to the scene, but no patients needed to be treated or taken to hospital.

Roughly ten minutes later, DriveBC reported a lane closure on the highway’s westbound lane between 207 Street and 206 Street due to a vehicle incident.

Google Maps showed heavy traffic in the area during that time, with delays expected for up to 20 minutes.

Drivers are asked to expect delays as the road remains closed, with traffic being diverted onto 207 Street at the time of writing.
