Chilliwack building supply store to merge with Langley outfit

CHILLIWACK — A Chilliwack-area building supply store plans to merge with a similar outfit in Langley, the Chilliwack company announced on social media Thursday night.

According to the text of a social media post from both companies, West Central Building Supplies in Langley and Yarrow Building Supplies have launched merger proceedings with a goal of full amalgamation by spring 2026. It’s not immediately known what the new company will be named.

West Central Building Supplies says it has been an integral fixture in the local building supply industry for 41 years by providing a wealth of information in all facets of construction. Similarly, Yarrow Building Supplies Ltd. remains a long-standing part of Yarrow and became one of the fastest-growing lumber yards in the Fraser Valley.

The two companies say they are confident this merger will be a tremendous asset for customers through enhanced customer success, more competitive pricing, improved shopping convenience, and increased community support.

“We thank you for your continued support and loyalty through this transition, and we hope you will share in our excitement,” a letter from both companies said. “We will continue to keep you all updated as more details emerge over the next 6-12 months of planning. If you have any questions please reach out to your account manager, who will be happy to discuss this further.”

The letter was signed by the general manager of West Central Building Supplies, Kyle Vandermooren, and operations manager Jonathan Vanpopta of West Central, as well as from Yarrow Building Supplies’ two reps, operations manager Brian Louwerse and sales manager Art Louwerse.

Yarrow Building Supplies Ltd. is located at 41924 Yarrow Central Road in Yarrow. They service Yarrow, Greendale, Chilliwack, East Abbotsford, Cultus Lake and the surrounding areas.
