
Abbotsford teen fined after driving 131 km/h in 50 km/h zone
ABBOTSFORD — An Abbotsford teen has been slammed with multiple fines after being caught with several driving infractions in the area of Livingstone Avenue yesterday afternoon (Jun. 6).
At around 3:30 p.m., traffic patrol officers with the Abbotsford Police Department observed a car driving 131 km/h in a posted 50 km/h zone, running a red light and violating the conditions of their license.
“The vehicle was stopped, and the driver was identified as a 17-year-old Class 7N (Novice) driver operating their parents’ vehicle,” wrote AbbyPD in a social media post. “As a result, the driver received multiple violation tickets totalling $759 in fines, and the vehicle was impounded.”
So far this year, officers have impounded 228 vehicles for excessive speeding.
