RV fire spreads to nearby trees, close to elementary school, in Hope Thursday morning

HOPE — Firefighters in Hope were summoned to School Road near an elementary school Thursday morning (June 5) after getting reports of a structure fire.

According to a social media post, Hope Fire personnel were dispatched shortly after 7:30 a.m. for a fire on School Road, near Silver Creek Elementary School. Responding firefighters found a fully engulfed RV trailer with extensions and candling of nearby trees.

Hope Fire says the blaze was quickly contained.

No injuries were reported to either firefighters or any persons living near the fire.

Eight firefighters were on scene for over an hour until just before 9 a.m.

The scene has been left in care of Mounties with the Hope RCMP detachment.

Hope Fire acknowledged the work of its first responder partners.

“Thanks to our response partners including police and BCEHS,” Hope Fire said.
