Drone show to highlight a full slate of Canada Day festivities in Chilliwack

CHILLIWACK — The City of Chilliwack says a drone show will highlight a full day of activities and festivities on Canada Day in Chilliwack.

In a news release Monday morning, the city says Canada Day will kick off with with the annual Sardis Kiwanis pancake breakfast at Evergreen Hall (9291 Corbould Street), followed by free activities around Chilliwack like free ice skating at the Coliseum (1-2:30 p.m.) and Sardis Sports Complex (10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.), and free admission to the Chilliwack Museum from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Toonie ($2) swim happens from 10 a.m. to noon at the Chilliwack Landing Leisure Centre and from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. at the Cheam Leisure Centre in Garrison.

At around 5 p.m., the activities continue over at Exhibition Field (9145 Corbould Street) for live music and entertainment on the Save-On-Foods Stage, along with food trucks and a variety of family-friendly activities featuring the RE/MAX Kids and Tots Zone. Back again this year is the spectacular drone show sponsored by Clearview Demolition.

“It’s always great to see everyone down at Exhibition Field for our annual Canada Day event,” said Mayor Popove. “Chilliwack folks know how to make this welcoming community event more fun year after year, and I’m sure this year will be no different. We’ll see you there!”
