
17-year-old hospitalized after being stabbed by teen: Mission RCMP
MISSION — Mounties in Mission say a 17-year-old male was hospitalized with serious injuries after an altercation involving a weapon last Friday night (May 23) in Mission.
According to a statement from Mission RCMP spokesperson Harrison Mohr, an 18-year-old male was arrested in connection with an incident in which police were called to Alder Street near 1st Avenue on Friday night at about 9:30 p.m. Police had received a report of a stabbing involving a group of youth.
Mounties arrived to find a 17-year-old suffering from an injury police believe is consistent with a sharp-edged weapon. Police say the boy was transported to hospital for treatment of the injury, which was considered serious but not life-threatening.
The following day, Mission RCMP arrested an 18-year-old male for aggravated assault, in relation to the incident. A search was also undertaken of an associated vehicle and residence, with assistance from the Lower Mainland Integrated Police Dog Service, as well as the Integrated Forensic Identification Service.
