
CP NewsAlert: Saint John police investigate possible shooting, lock down schools
Police in Saint John, N.B., are investigating a possible shooting in the area of King Square.
They are asking the public to shelter in place, and say schools in the area are under lockdown. They issued the following statement on its Facebook page at 6:50 a.m. Pacific Standard Time: “SHOOTING investigation uptown Saint John in the area of King Square. Requesting the public to shelter in place. Schools in the area are locked down. Updates to follow.”
The City of Saint John wrote the following on its Facebook page: “Due to the shooting investigation uptown Saint John – in the area of King Square – the City of Saint John Customer Service Centre is closed to walk-in customers at this time. The Saint John Police Force has issued a shelter in place warning for the area. We urge the community to follow their direction. The Customer Service Centre will reopen when it is safe to do so.”
