Tyson Road, South Sumas Road in Chilliwack to undergo pair of 11-hour closures this week

CHILLIWACK — The City of Chilliwack plans to close two primary roads in Sardis this week as part of ongoing construction activities.

According to a social media post from the municipality, Tyson Road between Balmoral Avenue and Insley Avenue, as well as South Sumas Road between Dover Road and Evans Road, will both be closed during the following times:

* Wednesday, May 14, 7 p.m. – Thursday, May 15, 6 a.m.; and

* Thursday, May 15, 7 p.m. – Friday, May 16, 6 a.m.

The city says the Tyson Road intersection at South Sumas and south to Balmoral Avenue construction is underway. Work includes roadworks, electrical, utility pole placement and multi-use pathway installations.

Upcoming work will include milling and paving works, line marking and signage installations.

The city says the road closures are weather dependent, and thanks motorists for their patience.
