CHILLIWACK — After acquiring all the necessary permits and licenses and hiring restaurant staff, Johnny’s Jukebox Diner has officially reopened in downtown Chilliwack.

The 1950s-themed diner that formerly operated on Wellington Avenue inside Chillibowl opened its doors Tuesday morning, May 6, at unit 2, 45966 Yale Road. The first 25 customers were given complimentary mamosas.

“Good morning. We are pleased to announce that we are officially open today, operating from 8am to 10pm,” Johnny’s wrote on Facebook. “Please be patient with us as we are a brand new location, brand new menus and POS system. We are looking forward to seeing you!”

The restaurant will operate from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. Tuesday through Sunday, including happy hours daily of 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. and 9 p.m. to close.

The diner had applied to add a patron participation entertainment endorsement to the food primary license to allow artists, pianists, live bands, dancing, amateur nights, talent shows, karaoke, singalongs, and comedians within the diner. According to a City of Chilliwack staff report, the diner can hold up to 58 patrons.
