Chilliwack-Hope Liberal Party candidate says Carney’s win is a new beginning for Canada
CHILLIWACK — While the results of his own riding weren’t what he hoped for, Liberal Party candidate for Chilliwack-Hope Zeeshan Khan says Prime Minister Mark Carney’s win is a new beginning for the country.
“It’s a new beginning!” Khan wrote on Facebook Tuesday morning after his party leader, Mark Carney, will form the next federal government. “Congratulations to our Leader & Prime Minister Mark Carney and the entire Liberal Party of Canada team for forming the Government! This is a moment of renewed hope and opportunity for all Canadians.”
Khan extended heartfelt thanks to everyone who voted for him and all his supporters who assisted him with anything from door knocking to building campaign signs.
“A huge thank you to all the volunteers and local Liberal team members who knocked on thousands of doors, made countless calls, and worked tirelessly to spread our message,” Khan said. “Your dedication and belief in a better future made this campaign truly special.I want to extend a heartfelt thank you to each and every one of you who supported me during this very short but impactful campaign in Chilliwack-Hope. We showed up with passion, shared our message of love, kindness and unity, and made sure every voice felt valued. Although results are not exactly what we wanted but are very promising which will provide us strong foundation to build on for the future.”
