Abbotsford police arrest local driver who tried to flee from authorities

ABBOTSFORD — Abbotsford Police say officers were able to arrest a 20-year-old man who attempted to flee from authorities Sunday (Apr. 27) night.
Police say they spotted the prohibited driver near South Fraser Way and Emerson Street around 6:40 p.m. Once the driver failed to stop, police say they used covert tactics to catch up with the man and arrest him within 16 minutes.
The Abbotsford man is facing multiple criminal charges, including dangerous driving, flight from police, and prohibited driving. Police allege he was also impaired by alcohol at the time of the arrest and was immediately issued a 90-day driving suspension. His vehicle has been seized.
