ABBOTSFORD — The University of the Fraser Valley is hosting a visual feast and more at its sixth Interpret: A Creative and Performing Arts Festival today (Apr. 25) in Abbotsford.

The annual event takes place from 4:00 to 9:00 p.m. at buildings B, C and D. Emerging artists from the school’s Creative Arts, Graphic and Digital Design programs are set to showcase their work, ranging from art and film to writing and live theatre.

“Interpret is an incredible opportunity to celebrate the creative achievements of our students,” shared Tetsuomi Anzai, associate dean of humanities of the College of Arts. “Today, we celebrate the diverse forms of art that our students engage in together in one event that has turned into a standout venue for emerging artists.”

Anzai added that Interpret launched in 2018, evolving out of the year-end shows that took place individually in the visual arts, creative writing, and theatre programs.

The event is free and open to the public. Attendees can support the students’ work with concessions from food trucks and a bar available throughout the festival.

You can find more details at the University’s event website.
