ABBOTSFORD — There’s still time to get involved in Community Clean-Up Month, and the City of Abbotsford is encouraging residents to take part before the end of April.

While the month-long campaign is already well underway, residents can still register and access free cleanup supplies from the city, including gloves, garbage bags and litter pickers.

The program runs every April and aims to inspire volunteerism, promote environmental stewardship and beautify neighbourhoods in celebration of Earth Day, which falls on April 22.

Residents are encouraged to pick up litter around their workplaces, schools, streets, parks and trails until April 30.

The city says volunteers make a significant impact and is inviting individuals, families and community groups to get involved.

To participate, residents must register online, connect with the city to choose a cleanup location and attend a supply pick-up meeting.

“Community Clean-Up Month is a great way to give back and help keep Abbotsford beautiful,” the city said in a statement.

More information and registration details are available on the Community Clean-Up Month tab on the City of Abbotsford website.
