Abbotsford police seize a dozen vehicles Easter night

ABBOTSFORD — Seems like some Abbotsford drivers tried to rush home after Easter dinner as AbbyPD’s Traffic and Patrol teams impounded 12 vehicles overnight on Sunday, April 20.
Half of the cars had excessive speeders. Most notably, a taxi was caught speeding at 100 km/h in a 50 km/h zone, with four passengers inside.
“Our Traffic Unit promptly notified the Passenger Transportation Branch,” said the Abbotsford Police Department in a social media post. “Road safety remains a top priority for us.”
The other six vehicles carried impaired drivers. Impairment has been a recurring problem on Abby roads recently, with hundreds already removed from the streets in the first three months of 2025 alone.
