
Somali national linked to narcotics crimes caught sneaking into U.S. from Fraser Valley
BLAINE, WASHINGTON – U.S. Border Patrol agents from the Blaine, Washington Sector have arrested a Somali national with a criminal history involving narcotics after he illegally entered the U.S. last week from an area south of Surrey in Canada.
According to a social media post from Chief Patrol Agent Rosario Pete Vasquez of U.S. Customs and Border Protection, Blaine Station agents arrested Yusof Mohamed Ali from Somalia last Thursday, April 10 after he illegally entered the U.S. from Canada near Blaine, Washington.
U.S. Border Patrol says Ali has prior immigration violations, and criminal history linked to narcotics. Authorities say Ali has been charged with 8 USC 1326 – reentry of removed aliens, and will be returned to Somalia.
U.S. Border Patrol agents continue to keep a watchful eye on the area from Blaine to Sumas, Washington, contiguous with Abbotsford, with heightened vigilance as they continuously remove foreign nationals who lack legal authority to be in the U.S.
