Scammers are now copying AbbyPD’s phone number in latest scheme
ABBOTSFORD — Scammers are getting more and more clever in their attempts to deceive and commit fraud against unsuspecting victims, seniors included.
The Abbotsford Police Department says it was alerted Tuesday morning (Apr. 8) that scammers are now mirroring phone numbers belonging to local police. The fraudulent calls may appear to be from the Abbotsford PD on their call display, but are vile attempts to obtain information or money.
“Please remember, AbbyPD will never randomly call you to request personal information over the phone,” AbbyPD said.
