CHILLIWACK — Canada Post community mailboxes in Sardis took a hit last week following an unspecified vehicle collision.

According to a social media post from a Fraser Valley postal carrier, the community mailboxes were reportedly struck last Thursday morning (Apr. 3) at about 3 a.m., with enough force to leave them leaning sideways. There’s visible damage to all three of the units where the bottoms have caved in.

Canada Post is aware of the damage. It will take approximately four weeks for new community mailboxes to arrive, a Fraser Valley postal carrier estimated.

The community mailboxes are located south of Wells Road, west of Vedder Road, in Chilliwack.
