Update: Pedestrian killed after being struck on the Coquihalla Highway south of Merritt

COQUIHALLA HIGHWAY – RCMP are investigating after a pedestrian was struck and killed by a vehicle on Highway 5 near Kane Valley Road south of Merritt early Thursday (April 3) morning.
Emergency crews responded to the scene at around 5:15 a.m. and found a man who had been hit. Despite efforts to save him, he was pronounced dead at the scene.
Police say the driver of the vehicle remained on scene and that no criminality is suspected.
