Mission Memorial Hospital E.R. to shut down for second night in a row
MISSION — Due to physician staffing challenges, the Mission Memorial Hospital’s Emergency Department will be temporarily shutting down for the second night in a row.
Fraser Health has issued a public service announcement saying the E.R. is set to experience a service interruption from 6:30 p.m. on Sunday, March 30, to Monday, March 31, at 8:00 a.m. The
closure helps to ensure a doctor can see patients already in the E.R. before shifts end at 11 p.m.
When the disruption starts, emergency-trained nurses will be on-site to re-direct care, transfer patients with urgent needs to a neighbouring hospital, and/or support walk-ins who need basic first aid.
People in the community seeking care for urgent, non-life-threatening illnesses and injuries may visit the Mission Urgent and Primary Care Centre, Ridge Meadows Urgent and Primary Care Centre or Abbotsford Urgent and Primary Care Centre during their regular hours of operation.
