CHILLIWACK — The current Member of Parliament for Chilliwack-Hope is seeking re-election, and he’s officially kicking off his campaign this weekend.

In a statement released Monday, Mark Strahl announced that he will be running as the Conservative Party candidate for the federal election in April.

“I was born and raised here and raised my own family here, and it has been an incredible honour to represent the people of Chilliwack–Hope since 2011,” said Strahl.

According to his campaign website, Strahl has served in a number of roles during his 14-year tenure, including B.C. Caucus Chair, Chief Opposition Whip and numerous Shadow Minister positions, most recently as Shadow Minister for Transport.

“I am once again seeking the privilege to serve this amazing community as their Member of Parliament and continue to bring the common sense of the common people to the House of Commons.”

Strahl added that a Conservative government will “put Canada First, stand up for Canadian workers and families,[…] and bring in a Common Sense plan.”

More information can be found on his campaign website. The campaign kick-off is set to run from 11 a.m. to noon on Saturday, March 29, at Evergreen Hall.
