MONTREAL — Voters are set to go to the polls in just over a month.

Prime Minister Mark Carney has moved to dissolve parliament and called for a federal election on April 28.

The first day of a short election campaign is already in full swing. Speaking to reporters in Quebec this morning (Mar. 23), Carney touted that his accomplishments as the Liberal leader– such as newly-announced middle-class tax cuts, removing the carbon tax, and removing interprovincial trade barriers– should prove his commitment to the role.

“It’s easy to be negative about everything when you’ve never fixed anything,” Carney said of his opponents. “It’s easy to be negative about everything when you’ve never built anything.”
