Snowfall Warnings in place for mountain highways east of Hope

CHILLIWACK — Spring may have arrived on the calendar this week but winter still has a firm grip on the mountain passes including the Coquihalla Highway and Highway 3.
Environment Canada has a Snowfall Warning in place for the Coquihalla Highway between Hope and Merritt, as well as the Alison Pass along Highway 3.
The national weather agency warns of up to 30cm of snow falling along the two highways. It says a Pacific frontal system will continue to impact southern B.C. today, dumping snow at higher elevations. Heavy snow is expected to continue through the afternoon before easing tonight.
It’s even suggesting drivers consider postponing trips through the region.
