Pictures posted to social media show flames not far from homes in the area, including several from Sigu Eegeesiak depicting flames behind some residences.

“There is a fire on Sleepy Hollow Road in Cultus Lake, and while I’m typing this, I can hear sirens and I think I saw a fire truck… thankfully my neighbour is in the fire department in Cultus Lake….and my sister has called and thank her for noticing this fire,” Eegeesiak wrote on Facebook. Eegeesiak reported hearing some cracks and bangs coming from the fire.

One Facebook commenter said the fire occurred in a gravel pit.
