RCMP respond to stabbing at home near Agassiz

AGASSIZ — A youth suspect has been identified after a reported stabbing on Seabird Island, near Agassiz, on Friday (Mar. 7).
At around 8:27 p.m., police say Agassiz Mounties were notified of the incident at a home in the 8500 block of Sth’i:tsem Road. First responders attended the scene and found a victim with non-life-threatening injuries, who was then transported to hospital via air ambulance.
Police found the young suspect at a nearby residence and arrested him. He has since been released to a guardian with conditions and a future court date.
The Agassiz Serious Crime Unit is now actively investigating the incident. Initial findings suggest that the suspect and victim both know each other.
