ABBOTSFORD — You wouldn’t think people would be getting behind the wheel while they were impaired mid-morning on a weekend.

But the possibilities are endless in Abbotsford where the AbbyPD continues to enforce impaired driving with robust results.

The department says its patrol shift 4 team initiated “Project Talon” which involves proactive policing aimed at detecting and removing impaired drivers from Abbotsford roads. Abbotsford PD says it successfully removed seven impaired drivers, including four of them being apprehended during the day between 9 a.m. and 11 a.m.

Since January 1, 2025, AbbyPD officers have removed 238 impaired drivers from Abbotsford-area roadways, or about 3.6 impaired drivers per day.
