Abbotsford Police arrest man – who pulled gun-shaped lighter on stranger – within 4 minutes of 9-1-1 call
ABBOTSFORD — When calls for service involve a weapon and every second matters, police in Abbotsford were quick to intervene earlier this week.
Abbotsford Police say they have arrested a 48-year-old man after he allegedly approached a stranger and pulled a gun on an individual.
On Tuesday, February 25, at 5 p.m., a citizen working in the 34000 block of Gladys Avenue called 9-1-1 to say a stranger had walked near him and brandished a weapon. Police say the suspect fled the area on foot, but AbbyPD frontline officers immediately located Richard Fekete and arrested him within four minutes of the call. Police recovered a gun shaped lighter.
Fekete, 48, has been charged with possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose and carrying a concealed weapon.
