Chilliwack RCMP respond to report of possible home invasion on Chilliwack Lake Road

CHILLIWACK — An online claim about some kind of home invasion near a mobile home park on Chilliwack Lake Road in the Chilliwack River Valley appears to have been a dispute among tenants.

A Facebook user in the 42,000-member Chilliwack Beware Crime & Safety Facebook group re-posted a note at 4:12 a.m. Thursday (Feb. 13) that there had been a home invasion near Baker Trails, a mobile home park on Chilliwack Lake Road, in which 15 RCMP vehicles attended.

“Good morning folks! Just a heads up – our neighbour just outside the park was a victim of a home invasion. There were probably around 15 police cars blocking the road. Unfortunately, this kind of thing might become more common with the growing number of Crackheads living in the forest.”

Chilliwack RCMP spokesperson Corporal Teresa Parson told Fraser Valley Today in an email Thursday morning that multiple RCMP members attended the area for a report of a possible home invasion.

“I did find a file in which multiple officers attended a report of a possible home invasion, but upon speaking with the parties involved, there was no home invasion and it appears to have been a dispute between tenants,” Cpl. Parsons said. “No injuries were sustained and no one is in custody. Thank you for checking.”
