Upper Fraser Valley RCMP leader moves on from Chilliwack

CHILLIWACK — RCMP Superintendent Davy Lee has officially moved on from his leadership role with the Upper Fraser Valley Regional Detachment in Chilliwack.

Upper Fraser Valley RCMP Inspector Darren Pankrantz announced Supt. Lee’s departure at Tuesday’s Chilliwack council meeting. Lee’s last day at the regional detachment in Chilliwack was December 12, 2024.

Supt. Lee has accepted a security position within the RCMP for the upcoming 2026 FIFA World Cup soccer games, which will be held from June to July 2026, of which Vancouver will host seven World Cup games.

“First and foremost, I wanted to just take a moment to acknowledge and thank Superintendent Davy Lee for his many years of service at the Upper Fraser Valley Regional Detachment,” Inspector Pankratz told councillors at Tuesday’s meeting. “We certainly thank him for his leadership, for his long commitment to the regional detachment and to the City of Chilliwack specifically. We wish him all the best in the next stage of his career.”

Supt. Lee started his career in the RCMP D Division in Manitoba where he performed a number of policing services like general duty. In 2012, Supt. Lee was commissioned as an inspector in the Lower Mainland as one of the regional duty officers before being appointed as the UFVRD operations officer. In July 2021, he was named the officer in charge of the UFVRD in Chilliwack.
