Snowfall warning in effect from Hope to Merritt

CHILLIWACK — Environment Canada has issued a snowfall warning on the Coquihalla Highway from Hope to Merritt this afternoon (Feb. 1).
The weather agency said a frontal system is bringing roughly 15 to 25 centimetres of snow by Saturday night, but the snow is expected to ease in the evening.
Travel may be difficult over some locations, and mountain weather can get especially dangerous due to rapidly changing road conditions.
A travel advisory is also in effect for the 48-kilometre stretch between Exit 202: Portia and Exit 250: Larson Hill due to blowing snow. Drive BC asks travelers to drive to conditions and watch for crews working.
