Fraser Valley man hospitalized with extensive injuries after hit and run

DELTA — Police in Delta are looking to speak with the driver of a vehicle after it struck a pedestrian earlier this week, leaving the victim with serious and extensive injuries.

According to a news release from the Delta PD, officers were dispatched Sunday, January 26 at approximately 7 a.m. for the report of a pedestrian-involved collision at 66th Avenue and Scott Road in Delta. On arrival, officers located a seriously injured man who was later identified as a 23-year-old Surrey man.

The vehicle and driver involved in the collision left the scene.

Investigators have issued a plea for public assistance in identifying the suspect vehicle. The suspect vehicle is believed to be a black 2011 or 2012 Honda Accord 4-door sedan. Due to the collision, the car received moderate damage to its front end.

Prior to the collision, the suspect vehicle dropped off two passengers at the Strawberry Hills Mall. Police say they are looking to speak with these passengers, and are appealing again to the driver to contact the Delta Police.

The pedestrian remains in hospital in critical but stable condition with extensive injuries.
