
Vehicle crash on Hwy. 99 in Delta claims life of 40-year-old Alberta man
DELTA — Police in Delta say a 40-year-old Alberta man died after the pickup truck he was driving struck a stationary barrier on southbound Highway 99 at the Highway 17 off-ramp Sunday night (Jan. 26).
According to a statement from the Delta Police Department, first responders were dispatched Sunday shortly after 7 p.m. for the report of a vehicle crash. Police say a Dodge Ram pickup truck crashed into the collision impact attenuator before rolling onto its roof. The driver and sole occupant was pronounced deceased at the scene.
Personnel from the Integrated Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Service (ICARS) attended the scene to collect evidence. The exits were shuttered for several hours while crews investigated.
