Chilliwack RCMP, bylaw attend derelict Tyson Road home as cleanup efforts near completion
CHILLIWACK — Two Chilliwack RCMP units and at least two City of Chilliwack bylaw officers attended a derelict home on Tyson Road in Chilliwack Monday as cleanup efforts near completion.
According to an email from Jamie Leggatt, director of communications and legislative services for the City of Chilliwack, bylaw enforcement staff, having received several quotes from contractors, are currently in the process of fulfilling the remedial action requirements imposed by Chilliwack City Council on November 19, 2024.
“This is ongoing, and the works should be completed shortly,” Leggatt said.
Sheets of plywood have been mounted to two sections of the front of the west-facing house, while a window that had been gaping wide open was mostly covered up Monday afternoon. Piles of unsightly garbage were visible on both sides of the home.
