Changes coming to 2025 Yarrow Farm Market, including new fee from the City of Chilliwack for food trucks

CHILLIWACK — Yarrow Farm Market says food trucks who participate in the seasonal farmers market in Yarrow this year will be facing additional fees beyond its control from the City of Chilliwack.

According to a Facebook post dated Tuesday (Jan. 21), Yarrow Farm Market is advising its food truck vendors that their vendor fee will increase by $10 this coming season.

The biggest change, however, is a new charge of $25 per food truck per event, or $35 per month, from the City of Chilliwack. Food truck vendors will also no longer have access to power unless they pay $10 per hour, meaning some small business owners may need to get a generator to access power.

“As many of you have already found out, the city has implemented a new charge of $25 per food truck per event (or $35 per month),” Yarrow Farm Market said.

The farm market apologized for the changes and said the new fee was beyond its control.

“These decisions are out of our hands and unfortunately our hands are tied, we just have to follow their rules,” Yarrow Farm Market said, referring to the City of Chilliwack’s rules. “We are so sorry for the changes but look forward to another great year!”

Vendor rates have increased by $5 this year, as the market says its operating costs have tripled this year and is only trying to help offset the cost.

When it comes to live music, the market said it has received three to four times the number of applicants. As a result, only 15 musicians and performers will be selected.

Vendors are welcome to fill out their registration application at www.theyarrowfarmmarket.com.
