CHILLIWACK — The Downtown Chilliwack Community Market Society (DCCM), a community of local growers, crafters, and gatherers, will showcase its goods and products at a new venue on a different day of the week as it prepares for its 2025 market season.

According to a social media post, the market will now convene Saturdays starting May 24 through to October 4, 2025 at Central Community Park on Victoria Avenue, not far from Five Corners. The market had been meeting in downtown Chilliwack near Mill Street on Sundays.

The market says it will still have the same “amazing atmosphere” and what it calls “incredible” vendors. Applications for vendors and food trucks are now open and can be accessed at www.chilliwackmarket.com.

According to a January 2024 news release, the society touts itself as Chilliwack’s most reliable source for high-quality local food, art, and hand-made products.

“Whether you’re a seasoned marketgoer or a first-time visitor, the Chilliwack Market opens the gateway to a world of quality food and goods that exemplify the spirit of Chilliwack,” DCCM

DCCM, a non-profit society committed to community and food security, stresses that it wants to connect local families, individuals, and seniors with healthy local food, contributing to the well-being of local farmers, the economy, and the local community. Prior to its fourth year, the market says it has already produced over $70,000 in food security funds for Chilliwack residents in partnership with the BCAFM, Bowls of Hope Society, and the Chilliwack Métis Association, highlighting its commitment to creating a community-centric space that offers local food for the local community and develops meaningful connections.

In anticipation of market growth, the Chilliwack Market said in early 2024 that it had expanded its layout to accommodate four additional vendors. DCCM said the strategic expansion was intended to offer more space, enhance the overall feel, and introduce coveted corner spots, providing vendors with a unique opportunity to showcase their products in an engaging atmosphere.

“The 2024 market season promises exciting initiatives, including weekly themed events, live local musicians, giveaways featuring vendors and local businesses, and enhanced marketing efforts to spotlight the diverse offerings of our vendors,” DCCM said last year.
