School District to host information session for candidates planning to run in trustee byelection

CHILLIWACK — The Chilliwack School District will hold a candidate information session for individuals interested in running in the 2025 school trustee by-election. The session is scheduled for January 16 at 5:30 p.m. at the school district office.
Superintendent Rohan Arul-Pragasam and Secretary Treasurer Simone Sangster will lead the session. Potential candidates who attend will receive an overview of the roles and responsibilities of a school trustee. Board of Education Chair David Swankey will also be available to answer questions and share insights from his experience as a trustee.
The City of Chilliwack is conducting the by-election on behalf of the district. Nomination packages are available online and at City Hall, with the nomination period running from January 14 to January 24.
Potential candidates are being asked to register for the information session by emailing Amy Dhanjal at the School District office at amy_dhanjal@sd33.bc.ca.
