UPDATE at 11:18 A.M., TUESDAY: AbbyPD says it attended a break and enter in progress at a large property in the 40000 block of No. 4 Road Tuesday morning at about 7:24 a.m. According to a social media post, containment was quickly established in the area by arriving officers. A suspect vehicle was seen attempting to flee the area, resulting in a patrol officer successfully deploying a police spike belt to immobilize the vehicle. Two men were observed fleeing the vehicle on foot and were eventually arrested by patrol officers with the help of a K9 police officer.

Police say an additional man was arrested in the area. All three men remain in police custody.

“This investigation is in its early stages and is being supported by our Forensic Identification Unit,” AbbyPD said. “Thank you to the residents who were patient while being impacted this morning during this investigation. We’re also grateful for the assistance of Chilliwack RCMP, who assisted with containment in the area during the incident.”

ABBOTSFORD — Abbotsford PD says two suspects are now in police custody after a break and enter occurred near No. 3 Road and Interprovincial Highway Tuesday morning (Jan. 7), east of Highway 1.

As of 8:54 a.m. Tuesday morning, the situation appears to have been resolved.

According to several social media updates from police, police were dispatched to the area after a break and enter. One male fled on foot in the area.

After the two suspects were arrested, police said public safety is no longer at risk. Abbotsford Police are currently re-opening the area.

Authorities attended the scene in vehicles and on foot, and a police dog was deployed.

Police had asked nearby residents or motorists in the area to report any suspicious activity to police.
